The announcement this year of a new, original Dr The announcement this year of a new, original Dr. Seuss book sent a wave of nostalgic giddiness across Twitter, and months before publication, the number of pre-orders for "What Pet Should I Get?" continues to climb. To keep up with demand, the book's first printing was increased from 500,000 to 1 million copies, Barbara Marcus, president and publisher of Random House Children's Books, said in a news release Monday. When "What Pet Should I Get?" debuts July 28, it will be the first new, original Dr. Seuss book since "Oh, the Places You'll Go!" in 1990. "We were absolutely overjoyed to see the response to 'What Pet Should I Get?' from every corner of the book world -- the bookselling community, media, educators, and readers nationwide," Marcus said. The publisher also released a never-before-seen image from the new volume by Dr. Seuss, aka Theodor Geisel. Geisel's widow, Audrey Geisel, found the manuscript and illustrations in their California home soon after her husband died in 1991. The materials were set aside and then rediscovered in 2013. Random House Children's Books said in February that it expects to release additional books from the found materials.

In Other News A competitive eater has conquered three 72-ounce steak dinners in about 20 minutes during a food challenge held at a restaurant in Amarillo, Texas. Dozens of people gathered outside The Big Texan Steak Ranch on Sunday afternoon to watch Molly Schuyler eat the steaks, plus three baked potatoes, three shrimp cocktails, three salads and three rolls. Schuyler finished her first steak dinner in 4 minutes and 18 seconds, which beats the restaurant's record of 4 minutes and 58 seconds, which she set last May. She told the Amarillo Globe-News that she had to turn down a fourth steak, because she was sick of the taste and not because she was full. Schuyler, who's from Sacramento, California, ate 363 wings in 30 minutes at a Philadelphia competition in January 2014. A handcuffed man who stole a police car in Alabama has been arrested again. WIAT-TV reports Birmingham officers got a call of a burglary in progress. Officers arrested the suspect Sunday and put him in handcuffs with his hands behind his back and placed him in the back of a police car. Officer Scott Thurmond says the suspect managed to get his handcuffs in front of him and drive away. Police say the unidentified suspect drove less than a mile before ditching the vehicle. Officers were able to take him back into custody later in the day. He was still in the handcuffs.
