Proposed Strategies for Implementing the Common Core Oregon

Stewardship Team “Ambassadors” to their groups and regions Oregon “Ambassadors” to their groups and regions Assist with local implementation blueprints Finalize transition timeline to help districts understand what will occur and when (May 2011) Facilitate Conference of Stakeholders to share vision/purpose regarding implementation (June 2011) Help build long-term implementation blueprint Communicate CCSS work to stakeholders 25- 30 members appointed by ODE ESD staff, K-12 and higher education math and English language arts faculty, teacher prep faculty, science, SS and CTE faculty, higher ed admissions directors Frontline communicators and implementors

Convene Work Groups Oregon Designed to examine systemic structures impacted by CCSS and articulate state resource needs to CCSSO Topic-specific Instructional Materials Curriculum & Instruction Professional Development Communications Results will be used to inform implementation blueprint Members of the stewardship team will work with ODE and partners to convene the work groups and identify workable strategies that can be added to the overall implementation blueprint.
