Costumes Halloween is a fun holiday. It is on October 31. Children wear funny or scary costumes on this special holiday.

Trick or Treating Trick-or-treating is a popular Halloween tradition. Children knock on doors and say “Trick or treat!” People give them candy.

Be Safe Together Trick-or-treaters should walk with a friend or an adult. They shouldn’t eat any candy until their parents have checked it for poison and razor blades.

Carry a Flashlight Trick-or-treaters should carry a flashlight so cars can see them. They should look both ways before they cross the street.

No Weapons Children should not carry dangerous weapons on Halloween. This pirate is carrying a blunt plastic sword.

Clear Vision Children should be able to see clearly in all directions when wearing their costumes. Costumes should not be too long or they might trip.

Baskets or Bags Children need a basket, bag, or pillowcase to carry their Halloween candy. These girls are carrying orange jack-o-lantern baskets.

Vampire This teenager is dressed like a vampire. He is carrying a bag for candy.

Bobbing for Apples Bobbing for apples is a popular game at Halloween parties. Players try to bite an apple and take it out of a bucket of water without using their hands.

Costumes at Work Some adults wear costumes at work. This office worker is dressed like a witch.

Company Party These adults like Halloween, too. They are at a company party. They are having fun.
