Mrs. Lindsey’s Weekly Blast December 4th, 2018 Don’t Forget! Read with your child each night! Keep a running list of flash cards for our Word Wall Words: I, can, the, we, see, a, like, to, and, go, you, do! Practice Sight Word Toucan Folders each night! We Are Learning About… Reading: We will focus on the letter Dd and the sight word do. We will ask and answer questions about stories we read to help us understand them better. We will continue to focus on our new reading strategy Flippy Dolphin to help us stretchy snake words successfully. Reading Essential Question: Who are your neighbors? Writing: We will focus on printing upper and lowercase Dd, as well as using adjectives (describing words) in sentences! Math: We will finish GoMath Chapter 5: Addition! Science: We will continue to discuss Unit 5: Matter! Social Studies: We will focus on the Hawks Rise Character Trait Determination, which will be a school-wide focus! We will also continue to discuss the Holiday Season and how that is different in different places around the world! Important Dates Dec. 3-7: Scholastic Book Fair Dec. 3: Toucan Sight Word tests completed; Science Unit 5 Matter Test Dec. 6: GoMath Chapter 5 Addition Quiz Dec. 7: GoMath Chapter 5 Addition Test; Wonders Unit 4 Week 2 Sight Words and Blending Quiz; no sight words test due to these other assessments!
