Propaganda… Comes in many forms: Posters Advertisements Commercials Where else have you seen or heard propaganda?
How to analyze it Questions to ask yourself Who created the item? Who is the target audience? What is the message of the item? How is this message conveyed? What is the effect of the item?
Things to look for What does the item show? What images are used? (happy people, puppies, kittens, or crying people, angry faces, etc.) What colors are used? Are there any words, phrases, or songs used? What is the very first thing you think or feel when you see or hear this propaganda?
With a partner, discuss the following pieces of propaganda What do you think or feel when you first see or hear the propaganda? What is the piece trying to tell you? How do you know? Overall opinion of the piece
