1) A staple food is the food that will grow in a region.

2) A) geography Food is grown where the soil is rich, such as valleys or plains B) Climate Moderate temperatures make it possible to grow a wide variety of food. Extreme temps limit the kinds of food grown. C) Rainfall Some crops thrive in areas that receive a lot of rain. Little food can be grown in dry areas such as deserts.
