THE FIRST THANKSGIVING

In 1620, PILGRIMS from England arrived in America after sailing across the ocean!

The Pigrims had a hard time living in America, they did not know how to grow food and in the cold winter, many people died.

In 1621, the pilgrims became friends with the Native Amerians (Indians) who lived in the area.

The Indians taught the Pilgrims how to grow food!

At the end of the harvest, the pilgrams plenty of food so they invited the Indians to eat and celebrate…The First Thanksgiving!

The Pilgrims were thankful for the Indians and the food The Pilgrims were thankful for the Indians and the food. Without the Indians, they would have died.

In American today, we celebrate Thanksgiving on the 4th Thursday in November. We eat a lot of food, especially turkey!

We spend time with family!

And we watch American Football!

And we are THANKFUL FOR ALL THAT WE HAVE.
