Teacher Introduction Graduated from Eastern Kentucky University, Master’s in Teacher Leader 7th year teaching; 2nd year at McKelvey Family is very important to me as I moved to St. Louis to be closer to my sister. I am excited to share that I will be an aunt for the first time in February. I enjoy reading, hiking, exercising, traveling, and spending quality time with friends and family. I also enjoy trying new foods and restaurants…I love to eat

New Parkway Food Policy The district has adopted new protocol that all staff, students, and families are required to follow.

Character Education McKelvey Code of Conduct: Caring, Respectful, Responsible, and Self-Motivated 7 Habits Braggin’ Dragons National School of Character The Dragon’s Code We the students of McKelvey Elementary School are learners leading the way.  We promise to care for all and be respectful to each other.  We take responsibility for our actions and are self-motivated at all times. We are the dragons!

Behavior Management Character Cards 5th grade gives stamps at the end of each day to students who followed the Dragon’s Code. They have the opportunity to earn 5 stamps (Friday-Thursday) and a Homework Completion Stamp as well. If students go above and beyond, they can earn more than one stamp per day.

Behavior Management (cont.) Earned Recess If students earn at least 5 stamps for the week (not including absences, snow days, and days off of school), then they will earn their Friday recess. If they do not earn 5 stamps or receive an OR or MIR, then they will miss recess and have to fill out a reflective think sheet that will need to be signed by the student, parent, and teacher. McKelvey Incident Reports (MIRs) and Office Referrals McKelvey Incident Reports will be sent home for violating the Dragon’s Code and will need a signature from a parent. Office Referrals will result in a call home from administration. Office Referrals are usually given for severe misbehavior, disrespect, bullying, or violence.
