Draw a large coordinate plane Draw a large coordinate plane. Cut out shapes (square, rectangle, trapezoid, parallelogram) whose points would line up with points on your coordinate plane. You and your partner(s) pick a shape. Player 1 puts their shape anywhere in the plane. Player 2 challenges them to flick the shape with their fingers so many units horizontally or vertically. Take turns. Whoever, flicked their shape closest to the objective wins.

Mark off a large coordinate plane in the classroom with tape or outside with chalk. Pick 4 people to stand together so that they make a square. They should be within arms reach of each other and all facing the same direction. Tell the group to move so many units vertically or horizontally. Each step is a unit. See if they all go the same way.
