To find the relationship of the amount of time per spin with the number of revolutions in a cycle Objectives

Materials Stopwatch Meter stick Rubber Stopper Washers String Plastic tube Electronic Scale Paper Clip Alligator Clip Materials

Roles Time Stopper (Measure Time for # of cycles) 3 PEOPLE IN ONE GROUP Spinner (EVERYONE GETS TO TEST) Time Stopper (Measure Time for # of cycles) Data Recorder ( Total of 6 trials) Mass Scaler (Scale masses of the stopper and washer) Roles

Equations

Lab Part I (Radius) 1. Middle of the rubber stopper to the tip of the plastic tube needs to be 15 cm 2. Start with 1 washers 3. Collect 6 trials with Increments of 10 cm **30 Revolutions per trial 4. Collect time that it takes to cycle 30 Rev. with a stopwatch 5. Show ALL work for Force and Velocity . NO MENTAL MATH!! Radius (m) Velocity (m/s) 0.15 m 0.25 m 0.35 m 0.45 m 0.55 m 0.65 m

Lab Part II (Washers) Start with 1 washers 1. Add 2 more washers for each trial. 6 Total trials **30 Revolutions per trial 2. Collect time that it takes to cycle 30 Rev. with a stopwatch 3. Show ALL work for Force and Velocity . NO MENTAL MATH!! Washer mass (kg) Velocity (m/s)

Data Portion Using the Graphing Modification Chart, Modify the graphs *2 Separate Graphs with Labels. AND 1 comparison Graph Using the Graphing Modification Chart, Modify the graphs *Shown Calculations with Data Chart: 1). Velocity 2). Centripetal Force
