STMA Points of Pride---Academics Based on the Minnesota Comprehensive Assessments (MCA), students in grades K- 12 Earned top ranking in the state Top 12.5% Reading Top 6.8% Math Top 9.8% Science 95% graduation rate 83% Students attend college* (state avg.=75%) Students awarded $100,000 in local scholarships *Enrolled in any Institution of Higher Education (IHE) within 16 months of graduation Excellence is Our Tradition

STMA Points of Pride---Music In February of 2018 the STMA Concert Choir performed at the regional conference of the American Choral Directors Association in Chicago, Illinois. They were one of 3 high schools selected out of the 200 that applied Members of the STMA Concert Choir, Vivace and Wind Ensemble traveled to Los Angeles and San Diego, California for a performance tour in March of 2018. While in California, the choirs and band participated in master classes at UCLA and performed on the flight deck of the USS Midway STMA Wind Ensemble had the opportunity to work with a variety of composers and conductors from the area, including Peter Haberman Both STMA Choirs and Bands performed incredibly well at the Minnesota State High School League Large Group Contest and scored high marks The STMA Music Department hosted two separate concerts for the North Dakota State University Jazz Band and the Anoka Ramsey Guitar Ensemble Excellence is Our Tradition

STMA Points of Pride---Arts STMA had 134 winners in the 2018 Scholastic Art Awards in Minnesota (most gold key winners in the state and most overall winners in state). Also, had an STMA Record 7 gold portfolios A student won 1st place in the Congressional Art Competition and his work will be on display in Washington DC Two students earned a full scholarship to Minnesota College of Art & Design Pre-College Summer Session STMA had six National Scholastic Art winners A student was named the 2018 Future Art Education Spotlight award from the Art Educators of Minnesota A student won Best in Show in the Youth Art Month at the Hopkins Center for the Arts 27 students earned honors in the Minnesota Junior Duck Stamp Competition 20 students received awards in the Mississippi 8 competition. One Judge’s Choice and one People’s Choice 18 students received awards in the MN State High School League (MSHSL) 2018 competition A student earned 2nd place in the 2018 Youth Art Month Flag Design Contest STMA Art Department donated 95 pieces of art for the Art 4 Shelter A student won a gold key and American Voices Nominee for Poetry at the Scholastic Writing Competition Excellence is Our Tradition

STMA Points of Pride---Activities Business Professionals of America (BPA) advanced student participants to state and national tournaments Speech advanced two student participants to state tournament Debate had a pair of students participate in the state tournament Excellence is Our Tradition Updated 11/13/2018
