Throwing/ Catching Kickball/ Wiffleball This unit will include practicing the technique of throwing and catching in various situations, lead-up games, and activities involving throwing and catching. This unit is to prepare the students for future units including, football, basketball, etc. This unit will include various skill practices and lead-up games. These games will allow the students to learn the most basic baseball/softball rules to incorporate into kickball and wiffle ball. Thanksgiving is coming in a hurry! This month has many holidays and important dates that should be noted. Veteran’s Day is on 11-11-18. Parent teacher conferences are from 4 pm- 8 pm on 11-19-18 and 8 am- 12 pm on 11-20-18. More information will be sent home regarding the parent teacher conferences. Most of the activities will be done indoors during gym class due to the weather. Please make sure your children bring gym shoes for their gym days. For safety reasons, I cannot allow the students to participate in gym with boots or sandals on. Please send them with an extra pair of gym shoes in their back pack if they are wearing boots to school in the morning with the cold weather or snow. ATHLETE SPOTLIGHT Derrick Rose has had a bad reputation lately with the NBA and the Chicago fans. This is because of all of the injuries and the downhill career that he was playing in Chicago. Derrick Rose is however doing amazing and breaking personal career highs this year and continuing to play to his full potential as the Chicago fans wish he was able to do here. Watch him as he continues to succeed! “A trophy carries dust. Memories last forever.” - Mary Lou Retton
