SkinTemp II for treatment of Ulcus cruris ©2012 Human BioSciences GmbH SkinTemp II for treatment of Ulcus cruris of a 85 year old patient with chronic heart insufficiency Barbara Fels, wound expert at Marienhospital Ankum-Bersenbrück GmbH, Ankum, Germany After 4 weeks of SkinTemp II treatment After 6 weeks of SkinTemp II treatment After 10 weeks of SkinTemp II treatment Patient profile Age: 85 Gender: female Wound description: 6 x 5 large ulcer on the right lower leg / moderately draining Concomitant diseases: Chronic heart insufficiency Probable wound etiology: Injury 3 months old ulcer on day 1 of SkinTemp II treatment Previous treatment Debridement followed by moist wound care by wound expert using a super absorbant dressing in combination with an antiseptic Wound existed already more than 3 months Treatment protocol using SkinTemp II Debridement on the first day of treatment SkinTemp II in combination with an antiseptic Dry use (no moistening) with nylon mesh (not removed) Change of dressing: twice a week Absorbent dressing as secondary bandage Outcome Complete healing of leg ulcer after 10 weeks of treatment with SkinTemp II dressing in combination with an antiseptic Conclusion of wound expert Excellent treatment success by the use of SkinTemp II dressing at a previously stagnating wound Human BioSciences GmbH • Im Biotechnologiepark, TGZ I • D-14943 Luckenwalde • www.humanbiosciences.de
