Writing Teacher Assessment Statutory interim frameworks support teachers in making an assessment judgement for each pupil at the end of key stage 2 in 2017 only. A variety of pieces of work are studied to ensure quality of work is consistent. Give out KS2 Interim Framework.

Possibilities for home support. Spelling Continue to emphasise to pupils the relationships between sounds and letters, even when the relationships are unusual. Practise adding prefixes and suffixes to root words to change meaning. Many of the words in the list provided can be used for practice in adding suffixes. Focus on spelling in homework tasks. Punctuation and grammar Review week’s learning using CGP Books. Practise concepts using website list. Ask children to explain why their writing in homework is successful. Model exemplary grammar in everyday life.
