SIA Convention Messages 10/13/2018 District I/II Fall Meeting 2018

Increasing our Collective Impact! Current Big Goal Increasing our Collective Impact! What have we done to reach this goal! We have focused our efforts so Soroptimist can be known for their work with Women and girls. This concentrated effort has gotten us noticed! We now have more great partners that help fund some of our Programs. Janney Investments, google, and our newest one is Torrid. Who knows what Torrid is? Retailor of women’s clothing size 8 to 30. They have been a big contributor this past year for our Dream Programs. Because of their business they want to help women. This year they came to SIA and asked if they could directly help with the LYD Awards. The award was increased from $10,000 to $25,000 for each SIA winner. They also received a complete wardrobe from Torrid. Before not all of them could attend the SIA Convention because SIA didn’t have the money to pay for travel. This year Torrid paid for their travel to meet so many of the women who help them. To meet these young women was exciting and they were just as excited. Our LYD Awards lead to greater economic empowerment in the lives of women, their families and their communities. All this takes FOCUS on our Collective Impact and that is FOCUS on your DREAM PROGRAMS so Women and Girls can reach their full potential. Please continue to review what is your Club is still doing that does not focus on the Dream Programs. What can you do to increase your focus? Let other projects go, increase your $ for awards, increase the number of awards. Thanks for all you have accomplished in the past 6 years as we move to the Dream Programs. 10/13/2018 District I/II Fall Meeting 2018

Identified Our Next Big Goal 2014 - Conducted a Barriers and Solution exercise 2015 - Researched Women, Girls, Education and Empowerment 2016 - Convention exercise 2015/16 - Conducted Big Goal Club Exercise #1 2016 - Researched Global Target Population 2016 - Surveyed the Region Governors 2016/17 - Conducted Big Goal Club Exercise #2 2017 - Surveyed members During this time through research and member feedback the goal was amended from 1 million women and girls to 500,000 10/13/2018 District I/II Fall Meeting 2018

Identified Our Next Big Goal Invest in the Dreams of 500,000 Women and Girls through Access to education 60,000 Women 440,000 Girls This will distinguish our Brand through our focus on education to empower women and girls. Membership Growth Public Awareness How will we do this? We will empower 60,000 Women through LYD and 440,000 Girls through Dream It Be It We will do this by working to increase our collective impact through our Dream Programs. This means we need to increase the number of women that we give LYD awards to and the number of DIBI programs. We can distinguish the SIA Brand through focus on this population to receive education. If we all tell one story and we increase public awareness to tell that story, we will get more members and supportors 10/13/2018 District I/II Fall Meeting 2018

Identify Our Next Big Goal “A dream you dream alone is only a dream. But a dream you dream together is reality.” Invest in the future of more women and girls! Some ways SIA is helping us reach this goal is some of our Supporters have offered a Match Program. If we pay a certain amount to the Laurel Society, the Supporter will match that amount. Our funds can grow that way much faster. Small actions can grow big results if many of us do it together. Invest in the future of more women and girls. WE need to tell our story to the world! 10/13/2018 District I/II Fall Meeting 2018

Identify Our Next Big Goal Dan Pallota, philanthropist and Speaker: “Resist the temptation to be safe, cautious and normal. Resist it with every fiber of your being. Peoples’ live are at stake in the work of the non-profit sector. If ever something called on us to try a ridiculously new way of doing things, those peoples’ lives are it.” By working together and increasing our Social Media. presence we can attract more members to share the message further. We will hear more about how Clubs can do that later today 10/13/2018 District I/II Fall Meeting 2018

Identifying Our Next Big Goal Meet Live Your Dream Awardee Sara 10/13/2018 District I/II Fall Meeting 2018

Idenitfying Our Next Big Goal How do we do this? Programs Membership Public Awareness Fundraising Future – 2021-2031 Big Goal Programs:: Increase the number of women and girls our Clubs serve by providing additional LYD Awards and holding DIBI Programs Membership: Grow and retain members by creating an enjoyable and civil member experience. Public Awareness: Gain great recognition by promoting club’s in your region impact through our Dream Programs Fundraising: Increase funds raised to support our brand unifying Dream Programs Future: Mobilize support of our 2021-2031 Big Goal: Invest in the dreams of half a million women and girls through access to education. I have a banner I want to show you that help remind us at all our meetings of what our challenge is ahead of us! Let’s start now working on this goal!!! 10/13/2018 District I/II Fall Meeting 2018

Governor’s Project Increase LYD Awards COPI Higher education Live Your Dream Awards I wanted to continue increasing the Collective Impact of investing in the Dreams of 500,000 Women and girls through access to education. So, my Governors project will be the education of students that COPI has ready to go to college. I am going to call these LYD awards also. We will start with 2 girls and if we can raise more money, we will add additional scholarships for continuing their education. I have asked Jolene Anderson to help by soliciting corporate donations to help more women and girls if possible. This is a whole new venture and if our Dreams don’t scare us THEY AREN’T BIG ENOUGH. Rocky Mountain Region wants to increase the number of LYD Awards and the number of $ we are spending on awards and I want to help that increase on the Region level as well as the Club level. We want to increase the LYD $ in each club by 10%. And increase the number of awards by at least 10% across the Region. We will do this by focusing on Membership, Membership, Membership, Public Awareness, Public Awareness, Public Awareness! We have great programs and we need to increase the participation in the Programs. You will hear a little later about how the Region is going to help you do that. 10/13/2018 District I/II Fall Meeting 2018
