Key Findings – Argentina The nature of online risk types: The types of risks that stood out for Argentina compared to the global averages included: 1) fake news, 2) internet hoaxes, and 3) receiving offensive content Our social circles became more risky: Within Argentina, risks stemming from family and friends increased significantly to 41% (+15 points)  The pain from online risks was significant: Within Argentina, moderate to severe pain was experienced by 53% of consumers, slightly below the global average   Consequences were up; positive actions were down: Argentina showed mixed results compared with the worldwide trend for consequences; Argentines were less likely to say they had lost trust in others online, but more likely to have lost trust in others offline following online risk exposure Millennials and teenage girls were hit hardest by risks: Yet, fewer teenage girls in Argentina suffered moderate to severe pain from risks vs. their global peers (55% vs. 61%) There was a surge in teens asking for help. Argentina surpassed the global average for teens seeking help from parents (46%), but were slightly below the global average in teens asking for help from other adults (27%); both were almost twice the previous year’s levels Digital Civility Index (DCI) improved slightly: Argentina (-1) registered a slight gain in DCI and ranks #18 of 22 countries surveyed

Nature of online risk types in Argentina 2/15/2019 Nature of online risk types in Argentina The most common types of unwanted contact involved repeated requests to socialize and  attempts to collect personal information, the latter of which surpassed the global average  Argentines were most likely to encounter fake news and internet hoaxes, both of which are also leading global concerns, but Argentina outpaced the global averages  The most typical behavioral risks were being called offensive names and attempts at purposeful embarrassment Receipt of unwanted sexual imagery or messages dominated this category both in Argentina and globally; unwelcomed requests for intimate imagery was slightly below the  global average, but still the third most common sexual risk in Argentina Q2.01 Please choose which of the following TYPES of Unwanted Contact you have ever experienced. 2/15/2019 Argentina fared better in consequences from risks as well as positive actions taken Worldwide, there was an increase in consequences and a decrease in positive actions taken by those experiencing online risks; the top five consequences showed 3-or 4-point increases from the prior year; people also were less likely to take positive actions (-3 to -5 points) Argentine consumers showed mixed results compared with the worldwide trend for consequences; they were less likely to say they had lost trust in others online vs. the prior year, but more likely to have lost trust in others offline  Unfortunately, Argentina showed much greater drops in positive actions taken following online risk exposure, declining in some instances 2-3 times the WW average *Worldwide trend based on 20 countries common in latest research and prior year **Digital Civility Challenge item © 2014 Microsoft Corporation.
