Key Findings – Italy The nature of online risk types: The types of risks that stood out for Italy compared to the global averages included: 1) receiving offensive or obscene content, 2) encountering fake news and 3) being called offensive names Our social circles became more risky: In Italy, risks from family and friends also increased significantly to 26%, though the gain was not as pronounced as in other countries The pain from online risks was significant: Within Italy, moderate to severe pain was experienced by 60% of consumers, 5 points above the global average Consequences were up; positive actions were down: Italy followed the WW trend for consequences with respondents saying they had lost trust in others following online risk exposure Millennials and teenage girls were hit hardest by risks: Millennials and teenage girls suffered greater levels of moderate to severe pain from online risks compared to their global peers There was a surge in teens asking for help. In Italy, teens were slightly higher than the global average in asking for help from parents (44%) with an online risk, but reported a smaller percentage when asked about seeking help from other adults (28%) Small improvement in DCI: Italy (-1) registered a small gain in DCI and ranks #9 of the 22 countries surveyed
