STAAR Assessment Results Outstanding 2017-2018 STAAR Assessments The following 2017-2018 STAAR results will be loaded for opted-in LEAs in late August: TELPAS STAAR (June Administration) STAAR EOC: Algebra II / English III An LEA must have the StudentParent interchange loaded prior in order for TEA to load the STAAR results. The XML files will fail the eDM batch manager if no students have been loaded in the TSDS collection for 2018-2019.

Student Transcript Guidance For the 2018-2019 school year, LEAs will no longer need to load the prior year InterchangeEducationOrgCalendar and InterchangeMasterScheduleExtension files in order to populate a student’s transcript view in the Dashboards. LEAs will only need to load the InterchangeStudentTranscriptExtension for the current school year for existing or newly enrolled students. LEAs should remove any prior year TSDS data loads currently scheduled within their DTU configuration. Submit a TIMS support ticket with any questions or issues.

Historical Metrics and Charts Historical Metrics will not be populated until September 2018 to avoid issues with student enrollment and class assignments at the beginning of the school year. Prior Year metrics will be available

Dashboard Upgrade

Dashboard Upgrade TEA is currently in the process of upgrading the Dashboards to the latest Ed-Fi version. The upgraded version will be deployed in the coming months, after the start of the school year. Existing participating LEAs should see no impact. Transition should be transparent to the user. Current year and historical data will be migrated over. District configuration and users settings will be retained.

Data Use Professional Development

Dashboard Data Use and Technical Assistance Center Supported by the 2015 Statewide Longitudinal Data System (SLDS) Grant, the Center will provide LEAs with professional development and technical assistance to enhance data use and data literacy initiatives related to the Dashboards to ultimately change policy, practice, and outcomes. Region 19 will work with partner LEAs to implement the Dashboards in a comprehensive and sustainable way based on the needs of the LEA and its campuses. Region 19 will also design and provide professional development related to data literacy and use of the data in the Dashboards in efforts to improve LEA, campus, and student outcomes.

Professional Development Design, create, and implement research-based professional development modules targeted to various groups of educators around the use of Dashboard data in their work. Create support resources and toolkits focused on the following topics: Improving low-performing schools Ensuring high school completion Supporting highly-mobile populations Differentiating instruction Identifying students for intervention and monitoring outcomes Completing campus planning and needs analysis

Best Practices Dissemination Complete Dashboard implementation case studies Identify best practices from partner LEAs Develop strategies for sharing resources created through this project with ESCs and LEAs throughout the state Provide support or information to non-partner LEAs, when feasible

TSDS Training Updates

Upcoming Trainings August 8, 2018: Dashboards Refresher Training: Webinar: All new and existing Dashboard Champions are encouraged to attend. Will cover additional beginning-of-year reminders and updates for the 2018-2019 school year. Includes new Dashboards Promotion and Outreach and Implementation Planning modules. November 5-6, 2018: Dashboards Certification Onsite training held at TEA.

Training Material Updates Dashboard modules were revised to align more directly to the videos currently available, including: Parent Teacher Conference ARD and SST Meetings Early Warning Indicators Interventions Student Goal Setting LEA and Campus Improvement Planning The modules have a flexible structure that allow for a short version (~15 minutes) and an extended version (up to 1 hour).
