Time to be Heard- the last six months

The last six months of the Time to be Heard campaign Events Time to be Heard event in Nottingham NHS Young Carers Call to Action Consultation events Time to be Heard launch in parliament Media Care, Work, Sleep, Repeat Looking after mum Policy Time to be Heard report Consultations Campaigning Fair Start Care Act and Children and Families Act

Why does Carers Trust campaign? Any thoughts?

Fair Start – what we learnt Multiple campaigns worked Network Partners came up with great ideas People REALLY want to be involved E.g. Local Authorities, external organisations, MP’s and young adult carers have been receptive The Minister was interested

Fair Start – what we can do better next time Complete the loop of information We give information and activities out on how to contact the Minister Network Partners were taking part and writing great letters to the Minister (we think…) The Minister was writing back We didn’t know what was going on!!!

What’s next?

The Time to be Heard activities coming up January 2015 - General Election February 2015 - Higher Education and Further Education toolkits and campaign March 2015 - Care Act toolkits and campaign

Now we need to know your ideas… Higher Education and Further Education Care Act General Election/ Engaging with MP’s 15 minutes to discuss: What are you doing already on this topic? What could you be doing more of? How would you use the campaign opportunity to improve things in your local area? Be ready to feedback to the whole group Split into 3 groups – number SW’s 1,2, 3 so we get a good mix of areas and expertise.
