OBJECTIVE To review recent progress in tropical cyclone (TC) operations and research. To identify needs and opportunities in TC operations and research. To foster communication between the operational and research communities. To make recommendations to WMO, and to the research and operational communities, for actions that will improve the global knowledge of and response to TCs.
