Fundraising No real update this week Just working to get in the EWB Spring Grant and the Boeing Grant by the deadline this Thursday. Meeting at 3:45 pm on Wednesday the 24th of February in the reading room on the first floor of Swearingen. If you have any ideas for companies for us to reach out to please let us know! We’ll be
President & VP President Hold and run general meetings and officer meetings Compile objectives and schedule for the semester as discussed in officer meetings Make sure all other officers and committee chairs are moving forward with their projects according to a timeline, provide reminders if items that are due have not yet been completed Deal with complaints and concerns Ensures chapter annual report is submitted over the summer and chapter dues are paid in the fall Notify chapter of professional development opportunities and EWB-USA conferences Manage elections Keeps passwords for all electronic accounts VP Reserve rooms for general meetings, committee meetings, and events Prepare meeting events (speakers, trivia, analyzing other chapter’s projects, building competitions, long time member/new member pairings) Organize EWB-USC table (getting members to participate, getting materials, fundraising activities, fliers) for New Student Day, Student Organization Fairs, and E-Week Coordinate EWB bonding activities (factory tours, river walks, tubing, camping etc.) Fills in for President at meetings if he/she is unavailable
Project Lead & PMEL Lead Leader of technical design of project Submits technical and travel forms to EWB-USA, with enough time for professional advisors to review sufficiently When EWB-USA requests a Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) meeting, Project Lead coordinates Determine data that needs to be collected Organize travel for engineering project Organize material orders for project Sets up communication with project location and maintains contact information for list of community members Travel to site location for trip PMEL Planning, Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning related to project execution Collects data for Quality Assurance and Control (QA/QC) for project showing whether or not project is making a positive impact Responsible for assisting with 500 level forms and taking point on 900 level forms
Treasurer & Secretary/PR Collects chapter dues Submit and track EWB-USA seasonal grants and final grant reports Submit the 506 form after traveling for reimbursement through EWB-USA Submit all forms for reimbursement for other accounts Keep track of all income and outflow Send the EWB-USA chapter financial report to officers and advisors once a month (after it is updated between the 16th and 18th) Contacts EWB-USA contact (Valerie Marshall) for any financial questions Secretary/Public Relations (2?) Record general organization updates during the update meeting and send weekly email updates of meeting minutes Create and update PowerPoints and/or to advertise for EWB when presenting to classes and for posting on websites Coordinates talking with classes to recruit members at beginning of semester Make fliers to advertise EWB to potential members, specific to major (engineering, public health, spanish, advertising and marketing) Creates posters, trifolds, models, and display items for presentations like EWeek Update Twitter, facebook, and other social media accounts
Webmaster & Spanish/Project Communicaitons Manager Add and edit material for the website Keep the website accurate and up to date Must know basic HTML Keep EWB-USC Facebook and Twitter updated with major and upcoming events Spanish/Project Comm. Manager Manage all communications with Ecuador (must know Spanish or work closely with the translation committee). Primary email contact for all official project communications between community and chapter Distribute papers and recordings for translation by committee and send translated texts back to the original requester (does not require any experience with Spanish)
Public Health & Local Projects Lead *Public Health (additional meeting per week) Coordinate public health projects to support and benefit the engineering project Local Projects Partner with local schools to support future engineering students through educational programs (LEGO robotics, future cities, mathcounts) Manage local engineering projects (Sustainable Carolina, Student Government) Coordinate with other service student groups (Students Helping Honduras, Timmy Global Health, GlobMed etc.) Coordinate Service Saturdays
Fundraising/Corporate Outreach *Fundraising/Corporate Outreach (Need 2) Finds, writes, and submits grants (Magellan, Dobson Service Grant, EWB-USA seasonal grant, conference grants, SURF, Honors Thesis) and writes and submits final reports Creates local fundraisers (percent nights, raffles, bake sales) Compiles list of previous and potential donors for future use Contacts potential donors (emails, calls, letters) Prepares videos, presentations, brochures, and letters for fundraising purposes Presents at local and state conventions, companies, material suppliers, professional societies, non-profits, and corporate firms to receive donations Provides follow-up donation information for those interested in donating (links, mailing addresses etc.)
