*CALL TO WORSHIP (Psalm 100) L: Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness; come before him with joyful songs.
P: Know that the Lord is God P: Know that the Lord is God. It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.
L: Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. P: For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.
*HYMN #551 “Come, Ye Thankful People” v.1 Come, ye thankful people, come, raise the song of harvest home; All is safely gathered in, ere the winter storms begin;
God, our Maker, doth provide for our wants to be supplied; *HYMN #551 “Come, Ye Thankful People” v.1 God, our Maker, doth provide for our wants to be supplied; Come to God’s own temple, come, raise the song of harvest home.
*HYMN #551 “Come, Ye Thankful People” v.2 All the world is God’s own field, fruit unto God’s praise to yield; Wheat and tares together sown, unto joy or sorrow grown;
*HYMN #551 “Come, Ye Thankful People” v.2 First the blade, and then the ear, then the full corn shall appear; Lord of harvest, grant that we wholesome grain and pure may be.
*HYMN #551 “Come, Ye Thankful People” v.3 For the Lord our God shall come, and shall take the harvest home; From each field shall in that day all offenses purge away;
*HYMN #551 “Come, Ye Thankful People” v.3 Give the angels charge at last in the fire the tares to cast, but the fruitful ears to store in God’s garner evermore.
*HYMN #551 “Come, Ye Thankful People” v.4 Even so, Lord, quickly come to Thy final harvest home; Gather Thou Thy people in, free from sorrow, free from sin;
*HYMN #551 “Come, Ye Thankful People” v.4 There forever purified, in Thy presence to abide; Come, with all Thine angels, come, raise the song of harvest home.
*PRAYER OF CONFESSION (unison) God, our fears and prejudices run deep. Sometimes we can only see our own point of view. We stick with those who are like us, rarely venturing outside our comfort zones.
We do not hear those crying for justice and true peace We do not hear those crying for justice and true peace. We blame those who are suffering and in need, instead of standing by them. We deny the power of your gospel to unite us with those
who are different from us. Lord, give us eyes to see and ears to hear who are different from us. Lord, give us eyes to see and ears to hear. Open us to new possibilities of life for all of your people, and use us to enact the new life given in Christ. Amen.
(Silence is observed for individual reflection and prayer)
*AFFIRMATION OF FAITH (unison) We are not alone, we live in God’s world. We believe in God: who has created and is creating, who has come in Jesus, the Word made flesh, to reconcile and make new, who works in us and others by the Spirit.
We trust in God. We are called to be the church: to celebrate God’s presence, to love and serve others, to seek justice and resist evil, to proclaim Jesus, crucified and risen, our judge and our hope.
In life, in death, in life beyond death, God is with us In life, in death, in life beyond death, God is with us. We are not alone. Thanks be to God, Amen.

SCRIPTURE READING: Psalm 118:22-29 PROCLAIMING THE WORD SCRIPTURE READING: Psalm 118:22-29
The stone that the builders rejected has become the chief cornerstone The stone that the builders rejected has become the chief cornerstone. This is the Lord’s doing; it is marvelous in our eyes. This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it. Save us, we beseech you, O Lord! O Lord, we beseech you, give us success!
Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord. We bless you from the house of the Lord. The Lord is God, and he has given us light. Bind the festal procession with branches, up to the horns of the altar. You are my God, and I will give thanks to you; you are my God, I will extol you.
O give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever.
SCRIPTURE READING: Luke 17:11-19
On the way to Jerusalem Jesus was going through the region between Samaria and Galilee. As he entered a village, ten lepers approached him. Keeping their distance, they called out, saying, ‘Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!’ When he saw them, he said to them,
‘Go and show yourselves to the priests ‘Go and show yourselves to the priests.’ And as they went, they were made clean. Then one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, praising God with a loud voice. He prostrated himself at Jesus’ feet and thanked him. And he was a Samaritan.
Then Jesus asked, ‘Were not ten made clean Then Jesus asked, ‘Were not ten made clean? But the other nine, where are they? Was none of them found to return and give praise to God except this foreigner?’ Then he said to him, ‘Get up and go on your way; your faith has made you well.’
L: This is the Word of the Lord. P: Thanks be to God!
