Career Cruising www.careercruising.com What do you want to do for a living? How do you make that happen? Let’s start cruising!

Rules for the day. Please pull cell phones out and turn them off and place them out of sight. When someone else is talking you are listening. There may be a question that will help you too. We have a lot to do today. Listen to and follow directions. Raise hand for questions. Work only in the Career Cruising website.

What career will you choose? Who? What? When? Where? How? What am I going to do? Am I sure of the route? Are my high school classes appropriate? Am I prepared for the next step? What college would be best for me? What career will you choose?

Relevance? Why do I need to know this? IT’S YOUR FUTURE! Usually we do not get in our car and start driving without some end destination in mind. We can start to prepare for our future by researching interests, skills and careers (begin with the end in mind). What will you have to do and learn to achieve your goal? Example: classes, grades, tests you need to take, training and/or college after high school, etc. Visit colleges!! Once you have an idea, you can start building your portfolio and resume to document your credentials.

User Username: scc-your student number: scc-45500000 Password: Your birthday: 02271995

www.careercruising.com Type in your user name and password to enter your Educational Development Plan (EDP). This is your computerized portfolio. You may access it from anywhere with the web  Who can you share it with and is it protected? One very important item to remember is to SAVE everything you do in the system. SAVE

Your EDP must be 100% done Look at each activity in your EDP Each one must be done (it will appear green) If it is yellow, you just must click on it and reflect If it is red, it is something you must do

Course Plannner You must input the classes you are thinking of taking next year manually. The next slide is for each grade, what people will take.
