Child Labour By: Yana Danylchuk

What is child labour? Child labour refers to the employment of children in any work that deprives children of their childhood, interferes with their ability to attend regular school, and that is mentally, physically, socially or morally dangerous and harmful. This practice is considered exploitative by many international organisations.

What does child labour do? Child labor is work that harms children or keeps them from attending school. Around the world and in the U. S., growing gaps between rich and poor in recent decades have forced millions of young children out of school and into work.

How does children get punished if their not doing their work How does children get punished if their not doing their work? They would get hit on the back several times and would get punched or not get food for several days.

How much do the children earn a day? The children earned 6 cents per hour, and some none.

Child Labour stone Quarrying Quarrying stone for construction material or to make gravel is hard and dangerous work, particularly for children. But for many poor youngsters whose families are involved in this activity, there is no other choice. Family earnings from quarrying may be barely sufficient to cover basic needs and money earned by children can be an important part of a household’s income. It may even mean the difference between eating and not eating on a given day.

How many children are trapped in labour world wide? Nearly 21 million people are victims of forced labour across the world, trapped in jobs which they were forced or deceived into and which they cannot leave.
