A Successful Kansan A successful Kansas high school graduate has the academic preparation, cognitive preparation, technical skills, employability skills and civic engagement to be successful in postsecondary education, in the attainment of an industry recognized certification or in the workforce, without the need for remediation.

Jobs In 1975, 72% of all jobs required only a high school diploma or less. Today, 70% - 75% of all jobs require postsecondary training … 4 yr degree, 2 yr degree, industry certification.

Effective Success Rate: A student must meet one of the four following outcomes within two years of High School graduation in a POSTSECONDARY institution. Student earned an industry recognized certification while in high school Student earned a postsecondary certification Student earned a postsecondary degree Student enrolled in postsecondary in both the first and second year following high school graduation
