Main findings from the mandates for international cooperation departments of enlargement countries (Doc MGSC/2013/06) Fifteenth meeting of the Management Group on Statistical Cooperation Luxembourg, 14-15 March 2013 Judita.horvathova@ec.europa.eu

Background Continuous discussions on MGSC and PGSC meetings about the importance and need of a clear and strong mandate of ICD in enlargement countries PGSC 2012 – agreement on core tasks to be included in daft mandates (submitted in February 2013 to Eurostat

Next steps Having approved the mandate (if not done so) Developing detailed implementing rules Clear definition of tasks and procedures for all stakeholders (incl. production and financial departments)

Questions for discussion How was the submitted mandate prepared on the basis of the discussions at the previous meetings of MGSC and PGSC? How was the list of agreed core tasks implemented in the mandate?   If an older version of the mandate was submitted, how has it been approved by the management of the NSI and accepted by all stakeholders? How does it define the position and the mission of the ICD?

Questions for discussion cont'd What are the next steps planned as regards adoption of the mandate by top management and its implementation in the NSI? What are the plans for developing implementing rules for detailed allocation of tasks and responsibilities defined by the mandate? How the production departments are involved in the work of the ICD? How are their tasks defined in the mandate?

Thank you for your attention!
