Description In this clinic, students will utilize traffic macro and micro simulation tools to develop various ‘what-if’ scenarios for extreme events evacuation and deploy the output from simulation models for decision supports using visualization center.
Objectives Review existing evacuation strategies for the study area Identify potential improvements/additions Develop vissim model for evacuation of existing study area Establish base line by evaluating existing evacuation strategies using vissim model Review resiliency index and vulnerability index methods Develop strategies to map resiliency and vulnerability index methods Identify alternatives to optimize the evacuation process Integrate Vissim model with VR for further evaluation
