Ag.no.17.1 Advancing the SRQ collection date Doc.A6465/18/17 Ag.no.17.1 Advancing the SRQ collection date Working Group on Article 64 and Article 65 of the Staff Regulations Meeting in Luxembourg 21+22 March 2018

Content of this presentation Background: Remuneration data collected by the International Service of Remunerations and Pensions (ISRP) vs Remuneration data collected by Eurostat Synchronize the ISRP collection process with Eurostat's SRQ collection process for 7 countries Delegates are asked to agree with the proposed change in time schedule

Current practices to collect data For BE, DE, ES, FR, IT, LU, NL the ISRP collects remuneration data which should be identical to the SRQ data collected by Eurostat ISRP and Eurostat follow different practical approach: ISRP has designed for each country a questionnaire Eurostat has designed one common Standard Remuneration Questionnaire ISRP and Eurostat follow different time schedules: ISRP send questionnaires beginning of April and process possible modifications until middle of May So far, Eurostat launches its collection in June

Synchronize data collection between ISRP and Eurostat for 7 countries April: Eurostat requests the remuneration data in the SRQ (reference date 31 March) April to June: ISRP and Eurostat cooperate in checking the data June: MS send preliminary validation to Eurostat and ISRP July: ISRP sends request (copy to Eurostat) to update to reference date 1st July July and August: final validation

Objectives For the Eurostat exercise, the collection of data for the 7 countries concerned will be advanced and the overall work load in Eurostat more evenly distributed: reduced risk of errors during peak period For the 7 countries, duplication of effort is avoided, via single dual transmission: risk of conflicting datasets is removed For ISRP, the proposed time schedule follows the established, achievable time schedule The 1st July reference date is retained

Conclusion Do delegates (of the 7 Member States concerned) agree with this modification to the time schedule for supply of the remuneration data to Eurostat?

Thank you for your attention!
