The sweater costs 15 euros. Der Pulli kostet 15 Euro.

Would you like the sweater? Möchten Sie den Pulli?

A sweater costs 15 euros. Ein Pulli kostet 15 Euro.

Would you like a sweater? Möchten Sie einen Pulli?

The first two noun phrases der Pulli/ein Pulli are the subjects (nominative case) of the sentences. The last two noun phrases den Pulli/ einen Pulli are direct objects(accusative case) of the sentences. Only articles for masculine nouns change when they are used as direct objects. The articles for feminine, neuter, and plural nouns stay the same.
