Predictors of non-use of prostheses by people with lower limb amputation after discharge from rehabilitation: development and validation of clinical prediction rules  Caroline E Roffman, John Buchanan, Garry T Allison  Journal of Physiotherapy  Volume 60, Issue 4, Pages 224-231 (December 2014) DOI: 10.1016/j.jphys.2014.09.003 Copyright © 2014 Terms and Conditions

Figure 1 Validated clinical prediction rules for prosthetic non-use in individuals with lower limb amputation at 4, 8 and 12 months after discharge from rehabilitation. If the participant has the predictor variable, they score 1, which is written in the white box, and if they do not have the predictor variable, they score 0. At 4 (and 6) months, scores total out of 5, and at 8 and 12 months, scores total out of 3. Total score (below the line) is used for the risk estimates at each time point. For full details on use, see Appendix 2. Journal of Physiotherapy 2014 60, 224-231DOI: (10.1016/j.jphys.2014.09.003) Copyright © 2014 Terms and Conditions

Figure 2 A survival curve for the proportion of individuals using prostheses for every month in the year following hospital discharge. Note: The retrospective and prospective cohorts show similar patterns and rates of prosthetic non-use.
