Domestic Strength “Through your choices of furniture and art you make a statement about your values and beliefs, what you hold dear and what you think is important”. Look at your room. In 5 words describe it and explain briefly why you chose those specific item(s).

“There are shades and aspects of hospitality and domesticity, and each of us fall somewhere in that spectrum”. Where do you think you fit? How can you glorify God and fit His purpose with where you believe you are in this category? Relate this to 1 Cor. 10:31 Whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God. 1 Corinthians 10:31 We are all different in the way we do things i.e. Some are more girly/organized in there decorations, while others are more disorganized and decorate their room with darker color But in the end our main purpose is to serve God with our homes and rooms. Ex: organizer = be able to plan well though out events Hospitable= make people feel more at home

Who do you relate more to? Mary and Martha Luke 10:38-42 Who do you relate more to? Do you think both were able to serve the Lord with what they were good at? We sometimes tend to look at Martha, and think WOW she didn’t even bother really sitting with Jesus. Lets be honest though she still serve the Lord with what she could offer. She was able to prepare her house beautifully for the Lord She truly believed Jesus deserved the best

Proverbs 31 “The virtuous wife” What characteristics should a woman have? What are some characteristics you want to work on personally? Characteristics: Trustworthy Does husband good Works with her hands Rises early Works hard to cook Giving Gardener Strong Perserveres Selfless Hardworking Clothers her family Dignified Optomistic/ hopeful Us as girls should reflect a woman like this. Our lives should be one that is respectful and kind. It isn’t always going to be easy, but with continuous prayer and determination we can reach the goal of being the best we can not only for our future husband, but also for the God that we serve. He ultimately deserves the best from us

What does the scriptures say about home life? Proverbs 3:33 1 Peter 4:9 Deuteronomy 11:19 Joshua 24:15 Psalm 101:7 What are some ways you can improve in your home life? Blesses dwelling of righteous Be hospitable Teach the Lord to your children The Lord should always be the center of your household Things begin to fall in place, this doesn’t mean it will always be perfect, but when trials hit you know that you as a household can lean on the Lord when all else fails. Should serve the Lord Don’t practice deceit and falsehold

Still did God’s calling “God’s design for you may be to travel and share His love with others among the world”. Ex: Paul Still did God’s calling “Home is Not only the literal place where we live, but its also the feeling we get when we’re comfortable and vulnerable with someone we love” What are some of your places that you call home? And why did you pick that place Though we have a earthly home, our eternal home is greater when we know Christ, because we get to live in a great place with a great God. Sometimes God calls us to go and serve other places. Sometimes he calls us to call another place our home. Hebrews 11 Will you step out in faith and follow him? In the end this world is not our home, but if you are a believe are home is up in heaven… So ultimately we should be striving for that goal..

What does he promise us, from this passage? John 14:1-3 What does he promise us, from this passage? Now that you know His promises, how do you feel? Does that begin to change the way you look at this world? He describes heaven a place with many dwellings. He prepared it specially for us, christians and He is promising us that He will come back and bring us home to where we ultimately belong. Our ultimate goal is to serve the Lord and leave an impact on this world, because in the end we will eventually die.

Why should we look forward to spending time in our eternal home? Revelation 21 John 14:23 Psalm 84:10 Why should we look forward to spending time in our eternal home? It is beautiful and eternal A day in his courts is better than anything We will always be with Christ He is our ultimate goal

How should the concept of home extend beyond your literal house and into your relationships and experience with Christ? Consider the times and places where you feel most at home. How is Jesus ministering you there? Now that you know that your eternal home will pass, what are your goals now as a Christian. Like Paul we should go deeper than our literal house, because even if that fades Christ will always be there. He should be our home. So what are we doing to show him in our live. Is he calling you to go out and serve Him? Is he telling you to open up your home to show his love through you. Philippians 1:21 “To live is Christ to die is gain” While we are still here in our earthly home we should live our life for Him and make him our home. Showing Him to all of those around us. Then when we die we still get to serve Him in our eternal home

Journal Question/Challenge What is God calling you to do that will impact your eternal and earthly home? Challenge: Write down three practical things you can do to improve one aspect of your home (earthly home). Choose one way to make your faith a central part of your home life. As we have learned about our earthly home and our eternal home, what are you going to do to glorify him through house, and how will your mindset change knowing that all of this will fade, because our home is up with Him.
