The means and SDs of the data from all Glucommander runs from 1984 to 1998 are graphed. The means and SDs of the data from all Glucommander runs from 1984 to 1998 are graphed. The database includes 120,618 blood glucose values in 5,808 runs. The mean blood glucose level reached <150 mg/dl in 3 h. The source of variance in blood glucose levels after the target was reached includes the effects of different targets and meter measurement variance as well as reflecting the efficacy of the algorithm.
