Root words Annotation –the roots of the word are note and notation

Jotting notes in the margin, underlining, highlighting to find your own stop and think spots in the text 1.Mark only the most important sections and 2. stop and write your thinking down in words. What is annotation?

EX. In the article about school dress codes, the author states that the Gonzales schools will now require students to wear prison coveralls if they break the dress code. EXAMPLE MAIN POINT

In this conservative community, students will have to wear the navy blue prison coveralls made by Texas inmates at school when they break the dress code. EXAMPLE DETAIL #1
