Overview of MASN Services What is the Missouri AfterSchool Network (MASN) What is the Missouri Afterschool Resource Center (MOARC) Who/what are the MO Afterschool Regional Educators (AREs)

MASN Technical Assistance How can the ARE’s help me? Program Visits Site Visits Quality Action Plans – development and purpose Technical assistance when needed in a particular area Resources to offer

Program Quality Assessment (PQA) What is this? Grantees participate in an ongoing quality improvement process at both the site and program level using the Assess – Plan – Improve model. A variety of data are collected that are provided back to the program in site level reports. This information is then used for both quality action plans and external evaluation.

PQA (cont’d) Why? Data used for quality improvement initiatives Assess one-time point of programing Used as part of the local evaluation process

MASN - Training Conferences: Missouri School Age Community Coalition (MOSAC2) Professional Development Institute November 2nd – 4th 2018 at Lodge of Four Seasons (Celebration of Afterschool) Celebration of Afterschool – recognize the field Support Missouri Association for Adult Continuing and Community Education (MAACCE) – has an afterschool membership category

MASN Training (cont’d) Advanced Planning With Data One site level Quality Action Plan developed based on either PQA or survey data) Mini Planning With Data Programs that previously completed Advanced, little staff turnover, and sending at least three staff that attended Advanced. Youth Work Methods Optional for cohort 8 in 2018-19 Required for cohorts 9 & 10

Evaluation – Local Level Goals prescribed for program Certified evaluators to select from and issue a contract with annually Meet with evaluator throughout year Data provided to evaluator for evaluation Program should ensure data is accurate in evaluation Evaluation prepared (called “Guided Reflection”) Goal(s) for next year from evaluation results to refine and improve programming, etc.

Evaluation – State Level Federally required Measures programs’ performance MASN coordinates with OSEDA Encompasses local level evaluations Utilizes same goals from local level at state level Data is aggregated for the state Provided to the state in October and eventually to US Department of Education

Kids Care Center (KCC) MASN provides a technical assistant – Jason Trainings are available – new staff required Refresher trainings available Trainings onsite or remotely if allowed by district Must fill out helpdesk tickets if you encounter problems;

KCC (cont’d) Due date sheet for data entry is posted on portal, changes occur, always check back for latest; Data feeds into evaluations (local and state); Required federal reporting to US Department of Education.
