Philippine TU Migration Plan Time Frame May 2015 to Dec. 2016

Background and the needs for the project: To embark on innovative ways to reach out and organize OFWs/MWs and to promote access to decent work and social protection with the support of the unions Target group and parties involve: Domestic workers/MW APL Sentro TUCP PSI BWI MTUC ATUC ASETUC GEFONT Bar Council Church Base Organization ACADEME Embassies ILO

Objectives To organize 100 domestic workers/MWs and have the access of decent work and social protection

Activities to achieve the objectives To carry out a mapping and participatory research for new project countries, with concrete finding and actionable recommendations. To established union to union bilateral partnership between origin and destination countries To conduct contact building and core group formation To conduct Basic Orientation Seminar BOS/Basic Unionism Seminar, to become aware of their rights and benefits also to know who are working with the trade unions to defend their rights to social security and access to quality public services. Unified TU Passport Card Time Frame: Jan. 2017 to Dec. 2017 Background and the needs for the project: The passport card is a mechanism to promote portable union membership among affiliates. This portable membership will help migrating workers to have access to information and assistance from GU as they move from country to country to another.
