What we wanted to find out Our hypothesis was that not many people would notice the signs, but the ones that did notice it would be tempted to touch it.

Experiment Design We put up signs in a busy hallway afterschool. Then we observed from a short distance away so we could count how many people noticed the sign and how many didn’t.

Variables Confounding Variable: The confounding variable is the huge crowd of people that had walked by. Being so clustered people would be less likely to notice the signs, and we would have a harder time keeping count of the people that noticed the signs or not. Dependent Variable: We tested this by putting up signs in a busy hallway afterschool, and then observing from a short distance away.

Results

Conclusion Based on our results people were too busy to notice the signs that were on either sides of the walls. We also noticed that people that were in large groups couldn’t have noticed it anyways, and the 2 that did notice it were near the end and were walking together in pairs.

Hypothesis & Reaction Our hypothesis was proven correct because most people didn’t notice the sign, but the 2 that noticed it were tempted to touch it, and did touch it. We were not surprised from our results because we also think that if we were put in the same situation, we also would not have noticed it and just carried on with our lives.
