Tutorial Discussion Question How would you define corporate social responsibility?

Why should business organisations be socially responsible? Group Discussion Why should business organisations be socially responsible?

FIRST (10 minutes) BY YOURSELF think and write down as many reasons as you can as to why an organisation should behave in a socially responsible manner.

Instructions SECOND (15 minutes) IN YOUR GROUP discuss each person’s reasons and agree on ONE KEY REASON as to why an organisation should behave in a socially responsible manner. Best to write out /ask students to write their group’s key reason – this can help in having a concluding discussion about why the reasons differ (or are the same!)
