Year 4 Residential to YORK March 20th – 22nd 2019

Why Are We Going? To develop independence and self care skills To use fieldwork to observe, measure, record and present the human and physical features in the local area using a range of methods, including sketch maps, plans and graphs, and digital technologies To understand geographical similarities and differences through the study of human and physical geography of a region of the United Kingdom To explore the Roman history of York

**Provisional staff** Who is coming with us? 30 children from Year 4 5 Members of Staff Mrs Sehné (First Aider) Miss Smith (First Aider) Mrs Statham (1:1 TA) Mrs Shortland (HLTA) **** Mr Smith (Governor) **** **Provisional staff** Mrs Gohr may join us at some point on the trip

WHERE WILL WE BE STAYING? Very briefly, The Wheatlands Lodge accommodate lots of schools, many of whom return year after year as the format works really well. All children are in multi bedded rooms, all en-suite, and staff are accommodated in single rooms which are spread amongst the children’s rooms so that all areas are covered. Briefly explain routines and levels of supervision, including children who may have ‘bedtime issues’ – (be sensitive as some children may be in for the presentation) Breakfast is cereals/juice followed by a small cooked breakfast for the children, and dinner is a set 3 course. Packed lunches are prepared to take away each day. Special diets can easily be catered for, as long as we let the hotel know in advance. Menu choices can be made nearer the time and we will send home these for you to make with your child.
