K-5th Grade Basic to advanced curriculum 24 to 30 students Audience

Objective Students are able to understand and analyze artwork by Faith Ringgold. Students are also able to write and narrate a story and portray it in a Story Quilt.

Main PowerPoint (Story essay, digital library, Webquest assignment, QRC assignment) Canvas and fabric Paint, paintbrushes, water, and oil pastels Materials

Procedure

Week 1 Week 2 Week 3 Week 4 Final Week Go over main PowerPoint. Introduce Webquest, QRC Code assignment, and Story Essay and Story Quilt. Have students turn in ALL assignments (Story Essay, Story Quilt, Webquest, and QRC Code) Students should continue to work on fabric squares. They should be at the point where they can start gluing them together. Week 1 Week 2 Week 3 Week 4 Final Week Have students turn in Story Essay. After turning essay in start on fabric squares. Students should be gluing and adding the final touches of their Story Quilts.

Homework For the month of March there are quite a bit of assignments that the students have to do. As the teacher, you need to continuously remind them about when they are do. Story Essay ~ due by the second week of class. (This gives them one week to work on it) Webquest and QRC Code ~ due by week four of class. Story Quilt ~ due by week 4 Report any questions that students might have to the class. MORE THAN STUDENT COULD BE CONFUSED!
