OUR AREAS OF FOCUS Water and Sanitation 9% of the people in the world do not have clean water. Less waterborne disease = healthier children and healthier children = better attendance in school. When women spend less time carrying water they can spend more time with their families. It costs $24 to provide 1 person with safe water for a year. Rotary hopes to provide everyone in the world with safe water by 2030.

OUR AREAS OF FOCUS Maternal and Child Health We are impacting the lives of Mothers and Children by providing Clubs with grants to; Provide hospital equipment, Host children's camps to help victims of war/violence, Improved assess to health personnel (Doctors, nurses, midwives) for women, Providing clean birth kits Education of mothers regarding breast feeding, immunizations and the need for regular checkups.

OUR AREAS OF FOCUS Economic and Community Development 22% of the world population does not have a place to sleep that is sheltered from the wind and the rain. 800M people live on less than a $1.80 a day. Last year Rotary provided grants totaling more than $9.2M to help break this cycle of poverty

OUR AREAS OF FOCUS Peace and Conflict Prevention/Resolution 90% of the people killed in conflicts are civilians. More than 50% of those killed are children. Rotary has been making some amazing things happen through the Rotary Peace Center Program, which boasts over 1000 graduates.

Foundation History At the 1917 convention, outgoing Rotary president Arch Klumph proposed setting up an endowment “for the purpose of doing good in the world.” That one idea, and an initial contribution of $26.50, set in motion a powerful force that has transformed millions of lives around the globe.

Stewardship? The Association of Fundraising Professionals recognized The Rotary Foundation with its annual Award for Outstanding Foundation at its 2017 conference in San Francisco. The award honors organizations that show philanthropic commitment and leadership through financial support, innovation, encouragement of others, and involvement in public affairs. Some of the boldest names in American giving — Kellogg, Komen, and MacArthur, among others —are past honorees. The Rotary Foundation earns a 4-star rating from Charity Navigator, the largest and most prestigious independent evaluator of nonprofits in the United States.

Club Eligibility to Use DDF Club and member giving to Annual Fund SHARE in the 2015-16 Rotary year creates eligibility to use DDF during 2018-2019.

Using DDF for a Global Grant Can grow $1000 of club money into $3500 of support for an approved project with World Fund match of both the cash and the DDF
