Veterinary Sanitation and Safety

Avoiding Contamination Frequently washing hands and protective clothing Separate sick animals for treatment and boarding Do not eat/drink or store food in treatment areas 4. Never wash lab coats with regular laundry

Protective Clothing Wear anytime the situation warrants it Better safe than sorry! When handling chemicals & pesticides: Rubber unlined gloves, boots Face shield or goggles with anti-fog lenses To avoid bites and scratches: Leather gloves Coveralls and lab coats Toxic dust or fumes: Respirator
