ESL Family Night May 8, 2013

On Wednesday night 40 people came to our program. Qasim, Sara, Raymond and Kevin helped set everything up. Dr. Pierce welcomed everyone.

First students put on a show. Jannik talked about his Novel Analysis. Aline sang a French song and read and translated a French Mother’s Day Poem.

Sara talked about Global Warming. Kevin talked about the book cover he created for his novel.

Asna explained how to make the food she brought. Misbah talked about Native Americans in the USA as she showed people her book she made.

Students created posters to persuade people to visit their country. Jake talked about why you should visit China. Qasim talked about why you should visit Pakistan.

The 5 W’s: Who, Where, When, What and Why Allan talked about France. Raymond talked about the 5 W’s of China.

Alina played her violin. Noe and Andrew performed “Honest Abe”.

Rachel, Geya and Yahor sang the Weather song. Here is some of the student work.

Here is more student work Parents, friends and teachers enjoyed the videos and performances.

Students wrote and acted out plays Students wrote and acted out plays. “At Paris 66 Restaurant” and “A View from Space”.

Students watched each other perform. Parents took pictures and videotaped too.

After the program we ate food from 10 countries. We had food from China, France, Germany, India, Ireland, Mexico, Pakistan, Russia, Thailand, and the USA. We all had a great time.
