Compare and Order Whole Numbers and Decimals

Steps Write the numbers on top of one another. Make sure the decimals are lined up. Start at the left and ask, “Are these numbers in the same place value?” If no, compare place values and make your correct mark. If yes, ask, “Are these numbers the same?” If no, compare the numbers and make your correct mark. If yes, cross them out and go to the next number to the right and ask, “Are these numbers the same?” This process continues until you can make your correct mark or place them in the correct order.
