U.S. Lacrosse Background Checks Effective Monday 10/15/18, any coach who joins or renews will be required to complete a US Lacrosse NCSI background screen The day the coach establishes or renews their membership is called Day Zero. They then have 10 days to initiate the background check process. They will get an email detailing this as part of their membership confirmation process. Reminder emails will go out every day. On day 11, if they have not begun the screening, they will receive one final email from US Lacrosse reminding them to initiate the screening. Day 11 emails will be the trigger to convert the membership to Fan. This means no insurance is provided as a member benefit, and they are not allowed to coach. After the day 11 email, if the member wants to begin the background screening, they can complete this by calling or emailing US Lacrosse's Member Experience team. They will send the member a link to kick start or re-initiate their process. It will be the coach's responsibility to follow up with US Lacrosse so they convert their membership back from Fan to Coach. More information on this topic can be at: https://www.uslacrosse.org/safety/safesport
