Creating a Flyer (2 of 3) Templates To Run Publisher and View Built-In Templates Run Publisher. If the Publisher window is not maximized, click the Maximize button on its title bar to maximize the window In the Publisher start screen, click BUILT-IN to display the built-in templates

Deleting Objects To Delete Objects Scroll to the top of the flyer to display the organization logo. Click Zoom In button on the status bar several times to increase the magnification Point to the logo to display the boundary and then click the boundary to select the object. Avoid clicking the text in the logo Press the DELETE key to delete the selected object Figure 1-30: Point to the logo to display the boundary and then click the boundary to select the object. Checking the Spelling To Check Spelling as You Type Click the text in the ‘Business Tagline or Motto’ text box to position the insertion point inside the text box Drag through the text or press CTRL+A to select all of the text in the text box Type a desired word incorrectly, so that a red wavy underline appears Right-click the flagged word to display a shortcut menu that presents a list of suggested spelling corrections of the flagged word Click the correct spelling on the shortcut menu to replace the misspelled word with a correctly spelled word Save the publication on your hard drive, OneDrive, or other storage location using the file name desired

Formatting Text (6 of 6) To Increase the Font Size Scroll as necessary to display the text in the date text box Click the text and then press CTRL+A to select all of the text in the text box Click the ‘Increase Font Size’ button several times until the text fills the text box without wrapping to a second line. Using Graphics (1 of 2) To Use the Picture Placeholder Click the area above the title to display the boundary of the picture placeholder and the picture icon Click the picture icon to display the Insert Pictures dialog box Click the ‘From a File’ Browse button to display the Insert Picture dialog box Navigate to the Data Files and the desired folder. Scroll down in the list to display the desired file Double-click the file desired file to insert the chosen picture into the publication

Using Graphics (2 of 2) To Insert a Picture Click outside the page layout so that no object is selected Click Insert on the ribbon to display the Insert tab Click the Pictures button to display the Insert Picture dialog box Navigate to the location of the Data Files and the desired folder Double-click the desired picture to insert the graphic into the publication

Resizing, Moving, and Aligning Objects (6 of 6) To Print a Publication Click File on the ribbon to open the Backstage view Click the Print tab in the Backstage view to display the Print gallery Verify the printer name listed on the Printer Status button will print a hard copy of the publication. If necessary, click the Printer Status button to display a list of available printer option and then click the desired printer to change the currently selected printer Click the Print button in the Print gallery to print the publication on the currently selected printer When the printer stops, retrieve the hard copy Exit Publisher. If a Microsoft Publisher dialog box appears, click the Save button to see any changes made to the publication since the last save

Changing a Publication (3 of 4) To Insert a Hyperlink Select the text you wish to make a hyperlink and then zoom to 100% Click Insert on the ribbon to display the Insert tab Click the ‘Add a Hyperlink’ button to display the Insert Hyperlink dialog box If necessary, click the Address text box to position the insertion point and then type desired text to enter the web address. Publisher will add the http:// protocol to your web address Click the OK button to assign the hyperlink

Creating a Webpage from a Publication (1 of 3) To Save a Print Publication as a Web Publication Click File on the ribbon to open the Backstage view Click the Export tab in the Backstage view to display the Export gallery Click the Publish HTML tab to display its options Click the ‘Web Page (HTML)’ button to display options for publishing HTML Click ‘Single File Web Page (MHTML)’ to select it Click the Publish HTML button in the Backstage view to display the Save As dialog box Type desired text in the File name text box. Do not press the ENTER key after typing the file name Navigate to your storage location Click the Save button (Save As dialog box) to save the publication as a single file web page

Creating a Webpage from a Publication (3 of 3) To Preview the Web Publication in a Browser Click the folder icon on your taskbar to run the File Explorer. When the File Explorer window opens, navigate to your storage location Double-click the desired file When the browser window opens, if necessary, maximize the window and scroll to display the hyperlink Click the Close button on the browser window’s title bar and then click the Close button on the File Explorer window’s title bar Exit Publisher. If a Microsoft Publisher dialog box appears, click the Don’t Save button to exit the Publisher Sign out of your Microsoft Account if necessary
