Current Issue Practice Scenario You have inherited a family farm along with your siblings (teammates). Your grandfather didn’t use technology to help him maximize water efficiency and crop yields when he ran it in the 1970’s-90’s. However, you just received a $50,000 grant to invest in new technology. You will need to determine what type of crops you will grow in order to maximize crop yields while using water efficiently. The grant will need to see that you are using technology to accomplish these outcomes. You have 5 years to show that your farm can operate profitably and sustainably. Make sure you have diversity in your crop rotation over the five years, and remember that your soil needs to be healthy for long term crop productivity. You have fact sheets for your farm, plus crop irrigation information to use for reference. Use your poster board to illustrate your Five Year Plan!
