Announcements ACT on 4/3! Know your resources! College Visits Princeton Review Online All your ACT books Previous Tests College Visits UMD, UW – La Crosse – have to know by 3/22 for visits on 3/31 and 4/7

Opening Ceremony: counting to 21

Act Review and Reflection Talk with your neighbors about how you felt about ACT 4

ACT Review and Reflection Our cohort averages dropped ~ 1 ½ points Over the three previous ACTs we’ve improved our average with each one What are some things that we think happened with this last ACT? How can we try to make sure this won’t happen in the future?

ACT Olympics 4 events to test your strength, wits, teamwork, and endurance

English Event: Stop/Go Punctuation Scavenger hunt There are 4 stars hidden around the room One team member must be blindfolded and directed around the room to collect the star and turn it in to the table STOP Punctuation – can NOT give directions GO Punctuation – can give directions Half-Stop – can give directions but only

Math Event: Counting to 36 Team must successfully count to 36 as a group with eyes closed and without communicating in any other way Once you have counted to 36, a member of your team will be asked to answer a question – answer the question and your time will be recorded.

Reading Event: Dual Passage Relay Practice! – 11 minutes Partners look over both of the questions – identify which has the larger number of questions – partner 1 can run up and get that one,read it, answer questions Once Partner 1 has answered questions, Partner 2 brings up questions and collects second passage Answer all the questions, team with most right in 11 minutes wins

Science Event: Hangman/Hairy Toe Teams get to guess a letter – if the letter is in there, that team can guess again Guessing either a letter or the answer counts as your turn First team to guess the full answer wins!
