What was the experience of immigrants from the 1950-1970s? Lesson Aim: To have supported explanations. TASK: Look at sources 15 and 16 on p456 – how do their experiences differ? Why do you think they differ?

Have a look at the sources and have a go at the questions.

What difficulties would the people who came to Britain face? Read the source. This is a report on conditions for black people living in Stepney, East London from 1949. What difficulties would the people who came to Britain face?
