The female reproductive system produces ova. There are two main functions of the female reproductive system. produce ova, or egg cells provide a place where a zygote develops uterus cervix rectum vagina urethra urinary bladder pubic bone ovary fallopian tube

Female reproductive anatomy The vagina (birth canal) is a tube that leads from an opening outside the body to the uterus, or womb. Sperm can enter the body through the vagina. The uterus is an organ with thick muscular walls the hold and nourishes a growing embryo during pregnancy. The opening to the uterus and the top of the vagina is the cervix. It is very small and it stretches during childbirth so the baby can enter the birth canal. At the top of the uterus are two fallopian tubes (oviducts) which connect an ovary to the uterus. The ovaries produce, store, and release eggs, the female reproductive cells.

The male reproductive system produces sperm. Male reproductive anatomy Testes (testicles) – organs that produce and store sperm regularly after puberty. Also produce testosterone. After bring made, sperm move into the epididymis, a series of coiled tubes where they finish developing. The testes and epididymis are stored together in a baglike structure called the scrotum, which is below and outside the pelvis in the genital region During sexual intercourse, sperm travel from the epididymis to the penis (organ through which sperm leaves the body) through a thin tube called the vas deferens. The vas deferens leads to the urethra, a tube located in the penis, where sperm leaves the body The urethra is also part of the excretory system and will transport urine as well as sperm. Two glands contribute to liquids to semen: the prostate gland (releases to urethra) and the seminal vesicles (releases to vas deferens)
