Functional art Vs. Nonfunctional

Functional art Art that refers to aesthetic objects that serve utilitarian (practical/useful) purposes. Can include many different things i.e. furniture, lighting, dishes and even books. Functional art infuses aesthetic ideals into things that you might never have expected to view as art

Functional vs. Nonfunctional Functional art: Serves a purpose other than being aesthetically pleasing Nonfunctional art: Nonfunctional art also encompasses paintings, sculptures and all manner of fine art. These pieces usually seek to engage with the viewer on an intellectual, emotional or aesthetic level.
